Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

As Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Paul Gauthier is responsible for Finance and Accounting, Strategic and Financial Planning, Investments and Mergers and Acquisitions for Dearborn National®. Mr. Gauthier also has responsibility for the Human Resources, Facilities and Office Services functions.

Mr. Gauthier joined Dearborn National in 2006. Previously, he served as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Group Insurance at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America for six years. He was responsible for all financial management functions for the company’s Group Profit Center and was a member of the board of directors for a number of Guardian Life dental subsidiaries. He also led the Internal Consulting division at Guardian Life for three years and was responsible for numerous corporate projects, including process re-engineering, brand image evaluation, merger and acquisition integration and implementation of corporate scorecards.

Previously, Mr. Gauthier served as a consultant for Arthur Andersen LLP for 12 years, working with a number of health and life insurance companies providing consulting services, including strategic planning, organizational design, process reengineering, mergers and acquisitions, corporate scorecards, performance management and cost allocation.

Mr. Gauthier received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers College. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
